Secondary School: Grades 7 - 12
Secondary students experience on-campus, classroom instruction each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday that school is in session. Assigned coursework is then completed at home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a parent present to provide supervision and accountability. For classes in the core subject areas (English, Math, History, Science, and Foreign Language) students can expect to invest at least 3 to 4 hours each week in focused at-home study. Electives will typically require less at-home study time – between 2 and 2.5 hours each week.
Parents may enroll their students in one to six courses each semester. Courses are offered from 7:45am-3:45pm.
Diploma Plans
Heritage Academy partners with parents and students to develop diploma plans which meet state requirements and allow students to advance according to merit and gifting. All freshman students intending to graduate at Heritage are required to develop a diploma plan with the HOS or current Academic Advisor.
